July 1, 2020 Pool Season Update

Douglas County has recently approved a variance regarding outdoor gatherings. As a result, we are thrilled to announce that as of Wednesday, July 1, there will no longer be a reservation system for the community pool. Pool hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily — with a closure from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day for cleaning.

The District will still be monitoring and assessing the community’s use of the pool and surrounding areas. If at any point, community usage is nearing the maximum capacity of 250 participants, Front Range Recreation Staff will need to have members wait outside of the pool gate until a group/member leaves the pool area, ensuring we remain in compliance. Based upon the community’s past use, we do not anticipate this being an issue at the pool except for possibly this coming weekend, July 4th.

We have appreciated your patience and cooperation as we worked to successfully open the pool - and look forward to residents continuing to enjoy the remainder of the summer. To review this update in its entirety use the link provided below:

Calendar

The system displays reservation brackets 48 hours ahead of the current time. The time slots are 10am-12pm, 12:30pm-2:30pm, 3pm-5pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm daily.

We understand the system is a little confusing, if you do not have the ability to click on a specific day - that is because there are no slots available.  The best thing to do is to check back frequently as slots open up as cancellations are received.

Frequently asked questions

What time are the slots?

The system displays reservation brackets 48 hours ahead of the current time. So if you wanted the 12:30-2:30 reservation bracket on Wednesday, the time lots won't be visible or able to book until 12:30pm on Monday. The time slots are 10am-12pm, 12:30pm-2:30pm, 3pm-5pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm daily.

Why can’t I find any slots?

The system displays reservation slots 48 hours ahead of the current time. If all of the slots are full then the system will not allow for you to reserve. We understand this can be a bit frustrating and we encourage you to check back frequently as cancelations and slots open throughout the day.

Do I need my pool pass?

We are suspending pool passes this year. HOWEVER your entrance will be verified using a"live pool-registration resident list". Please make sure you have registered. You do not need to re-register if you have done so in the past.

Do you have a waitlist?

At this time our system does not have the ability to enable a waiting list. But we will allow for walk ups to fill any no shows 30 minutes after the start of the reservation time.

The Lincoln Park pool will be opening Monday, June 8th. Because of Covid, pool use this season needs to be viewed as place that has a recreational and fitness purposes. Due to our current health guidelines and expectations under the Safer-At-Home order, it cannot be the beloved social gathering it always has been. The pool management company, Front Range Recreation, has the authority to ask anyone not complying with the rules and guidelines to leave the pool area. What you should expect when coming to the pool this season?

Per the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), the facility is being limited to 50% capacity, up to 50 people, whichever is fewer.

Swimmers not living in the same household should stay at least 6 feet apart both in the pool and on the deck, and no group can exceed 10 people. Persons on the deck are encouraged to wear masks when not swimming in the pool.

A reservation system is being instituted, per CDPHE guidelines, to manage attendance and allow for equitable use of the facility. Reservations can only be made up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations are for a 2-hour slot. Residents may use the pool and deck for the duration of the slot and then must vacate the pool to allow staff time to disinfect and clean before the next slot. The pool will be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the time bracket, and you will be allotted 10 minutes to gather your belongings and exit the facility. Each household will be able to sign up for one 2-hour time slot per day for no more than 8 people with a maximum of two slots per 7-day period. While restrooms and showers will remain open, locker access and changing areas will be closed to reduce congregation in enclosed spaces.

All frequently touched surfaces in the restrooms will be disinfected every hour and furniture between reservation brackets.

Pool furniture will be limited to tables and umbrellas only and cannot be moved. You are welcome to bring your own chairs but must take them with you at the end of your reservation bracket. Aside from valuables, all personal items left at the facility will be discarded between reservation brackets.

Due to the number of people being restricted, no guests or pool parties are permitted.

Pool hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Our District's outside professionals continue to communicate regularly on potential safety measures related to COVID-19 to try and be ready for the pool season. The Governor did not provide any additional information or direction regarding those portions of the Safer at Home order on Tuesday May 26th, which currently requires pools to be closed, and that after June 1st, the State will decide if the latest order can and/or should be further modified to phase in certain summer activities which would include pool operation. Based upon this information, the District will internally continue working on options for a 2020 pool season, and once we have more information, including being advised that we can open the pool with "Base State Guidance", we will communicate that to you via our E-news.
